Our advisory firm was founded in 2000 and advises clients in the areas of investment planning and management, estate planning, and income tax planning and preparation. We are an independent, fee only, financial advisory firm providing comprehensive and integrated solutions for our clients. Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest quality personalized financial and investment advisory services.
We serve a wide variety of affluent individuals, trusts, fiduciaries and privately held businesses. Our focus is on client relationships. We continue to accept referrals of new clients with challenging needs. In designing the best financial plan for each client we address their goals and objectives, taking in to account their risk tolerance and exposure.
We provide our clients with the financial advice not only to react to changes in the law but to anticipate and benefit from these changes. |

Terrence P. McHugh, Esq., CPA, Licensed Investment Advisor
Terrence P. McHugh is the founder of The McHugh Group, LLC and supervises all areas of the firm. His clients include high net worth families and individuals and privately/closely held businesses. His primary focus is minimizing tax consequences arising from business transactions and intra-family transfers of wealth. He is especially knowledgeable in the investment management side of the business and his previous experience in dealing with outside money managers brings unique insight.
Early in his career, Terry worked at two of the Big Four accounting firms and served as the primary legal counsel and investment advisor for a high net worth family office. His responsibilities included coordinating business, legal and tax matters.
He serves on the Board of Directors of a number of local not for profit organizations.
After graduating from Miami University, Terry attended the University of Toledo College of Law, where he received his degree in 1985.
Terry also serves as an Arbitrator with the National Association of Securities Dealer (NASD). |

Karen R. Wehr, Esq.
Prior to joining The McHugh Group, LLC, Karen started her legal career at a large Cleveland based law firm and then worked for a number of smaller law firms. Working at both large and small law firms enabled Karen to become familiar with the unique opportunities created by client wealth and to provide proactive counsel to these clients.
Karen has over 15 years of experience as a corporate attorney. She is an integral contributor to The McHugh Group, LLC, a financial advisory firm, as well as Terrence P. McHugh, LLC, a law firm specializing in tax law, commercial and corporate law, trusts and estates, and estate planning.
Karen grew up in Buffalo, New York and holds a B.A. (1986) and J.D.(1990) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Karen joined Terrence McHugh at his law practice in 2002, and has been actively involved in The McHugh Group, LLC since its inception. Karen handles coordination of all client services and management of The McHugh Group, LLC. In addition to her professional services, Karen is actively involved in her local community and donates much of her time and expertise to these groups. |
